The Challenge
Load-bearing walls boxed the kitchen, dining, and living areas into three separate, disconnected rooms, blocking natural light and making it impossible for the family to be together while cooking or entertaining.
Our Approach
A structural engineer sized a new steel beam to safely carry the load, letting us remove two walls at once. We rebuilt the floor plan around a larger island, matched flooring and trim across the newly combined space, and let light reach both sides of the home for the first time.
The Result
Kitchen, dining, and living now share one continuous, light-filled space, and the family finally has a home that matches how they actually spend their time together.
